° [DDR 004] Passie - Evolutionary E.P. » by Rydel
The second trance-release on D|Dance Records is by the Dutch Passie which in english translates to "passion". Coming to us with an awesome collection of tracks he made alone and with others, we selected an exceptional five (!) for his first E.P. For lovers of 'classic' trance, these tracks are a must-hear.
On the A-side the first track is the EP-title "Evolutionary", a perfect intro-track with dreamy strings and flowing breakdown.
The A2 is the much more progressive "Paradize Planet". A deep kick complemented with a dark bass drives this track to a very peaceful break where melodies reminding of early Underworld tracks take hold.
For the B-side Passie provided us with two remakes of collabs with his friends MeesterWerk and Vinnie. "Revoluzion" combines a simple but very effective piano with a very powerful synth, while "Solunar" has a more epic and flowing feel to it.
"Trance Drafter", the closing track for this release, is faster and sounds and builds like classic trance-tracks that were released in the early 90's on for example Bonzai Records.

° [DDR 002] Coltfreak - The Coltfreak » by Rydel
For the first trance-release we have the tech-trance newcomer Coltfreak. Teaming up with Rydel for a remix on the Slovenian based Sound Evolution Records and another soon to follow on the American RELDZ recordings, DDance-Records brings his first solo release.
On the A-side is the original mix, deep and dark with a flowing break and a very techno-ish groove.
And the first remix is by the dutch trance-producer Syros who will come out on DDR with a solo-release in the following months. He gives the track a more trance-like feel while maintaining the groove.
When we flip it over (theoretically speaking) we find the Rydel & Deyo remix, which was a late entry and was just finished in time for the release-date. Unsurprisingly this remix is very techno-orientated, while the melodies still come to their rights.
The third remix is by Hungarian all-rounder Gabriel Miller who twisted the main melodies around to create a massive anthem-like breakdown. After a series of buildups this remix kicks in like a mule!
